Our first of hopefully many dinner + live music pairings with our friends from the erstwhile but lovely Garden Griddle. Full menu coming very soon!
Jake Allen crafts a kaleidoscopic sound that plunges the curious listener into a world of endless sonic possibilities, incorporating prog-pop, waves of ambient instrumentals, and complex musical layers. Allen showcases the guitar, harnessing every nuance of the instrument and transforming it into an ethereal, shape-shifting creature that bends both notes and time. He explores numerous musical styles with his wizardry, ranging from lullaby-like dreams to burgeoning anthems. A documentarian of sorts, his immersive storytelling and emotional vocal performance offer a multi-timbral journey through time and space. His fourth album, Affirmation Day provides a snapshot of shifting perspectives and personal growth through the means of signature fingerpicking, percussive guitar tapping, and lush musical arrangements.
Allen has released 4 albums, toured tirelessly here and overseas, and shared the stage with Steve Miller, Stephen Bishop, The Accidentals, Keller Williams, Mike Dawes, Andy McKee, and Guthrie Govan. His performances have included NAMM, Hoxeyville Music Festival, Blissfest, and Winnetka Music Festival.
Ryan David Green‘s music has been called “virtuosic acoustic guitar that is remarkably accessible”, with fast fingerwork that is always in service of unmistakeable melodies. Performing a blend of instrumental guitar pieces and delicate vocal tunes, Green takes audiences to a place both otherworldly, and somehow surprisingly intimate.
A graduate of Boston’s prestigious Berklee College of Music, he’s performed on 4 continents, been profiled in Acoustic Guitar Magazine, and twice been named “Best Guitarist” in the Tucson Music Awards (where he currently resides). He was awarded 1st place in the 2024 American Songwriter Song Contest.
His acoustic-duo Ryanhood (with musical partner Cameron Hood) has performed with a wide-range of artists including Jason Mraz, Matt Nathanson, and Train, and were named the “Best Group/Duo” in the International Acoustic Music Awards. His debut solo-guitar album Off and Running released on June 14, 2024.
***THE DINNER & SHOW ARE BOTH IN THE THEATER ON THE 2ND FLOOR — ACCESSIBLE ONLY BY STAIRS.
We dearly want to add an elevator to this historic building once we have the means.***
