***THIS SHOW IS IN THE THEATER, WHICH IS ON THE 2ND FLOOR & ACCESSIBLE ONLY BY STAIRS. We would love nothing more than to be able to welcome every human into the theater and are working really hard to have an elevator built in the near future.***
Each person’s element is essential, like voices in the heartfelt conversations that make up Racoma’s songs. Their collective sound radiates human connection, with emotional depth that draws listeners in to reflect long after the music fades.
For their most recent album, Racoma continues to keep things fresh with something a bit different. The band partnered with fly-fishing bassist Garrett Gue to record live takes directly to analog tape at Sage Arts Recording Studio, capturing a lively and melodic approach rich with spontaneity and unafraid of imperfections. In Vine is playful and loose, capturing wistful joy in a way that feels both intimate and raw.

Bloomington, Indiana, band Slug Rug is the songwriting project of sibling duo Audrey and Keegan Priest, whose lifelong love of folk and indie-rock culminate in a constant balancing act between soft and loud, intimate and abrasive. 90s-obsessed walls of sounds and gentle finger-pick stylings soundtrack a yearning exploration of young adult life. Through 4 track recordings or pieces of studio-tedium, the sound and medium of Slug Rug is a constantly evolving philosophy where texture and timbre are emphasized just as much as the music itself.
The live band is composed of Ethan Cantrell (Drums), Reeder Vyain (Synth), and Drew Goforth (Bass), who the duo met through the Audio Engineering department at the Jacobs School of Music.
