The Jacob Jolliff Band

The Jacob Jolliff Band is a group of virtuosic pickers who’ve toured the US, Scotland, and Australia. They’ve released 2 albums, Instrumentals Vol. 1 in 2018 and The Jacob Jolliff Band in 2022, with a new record on the way in May 2024.

Jacob Jolliff studied at Berklee under the late mandolin great John McGann. In his sophomore year, he joined Joy Kills Sorrow, touring the US, Canada, and Europe, and playing hundreds of shows. He won the National Mandolin Championship in 2012. In 2014, after 3 records, hundreds of shows, and thousands of miles in a 15-passenger van, JKS went on an indefinite hiatus. Within a couple weeks of their last show, he got a call from Yonder Mountain String Band. Jacob went on his first tour with YMSB in June of 2014. Shortly after, he became a full-time member. He played with YMSB until 2019, releasing 3 albums with the group.

In 2022, he was asked by Béla Fleck to tour as part of My Bluegrass Heart. He performed around the country alongside Béla, Bryan Sutton, Cody Kilby, Justin Moses, Mark Schatz, Michael Cleveland, Stuart Duncan, and Billy Contreras.
